A history walk around Hampstead

This is a one hour virtual walk exploring the lanes and back alleys of Hampstead – perhaps the most beautiful of London’s suburbs.

During this fascinating walk, we examine the growth of Hampstead into a popular spa where the wealthy came to take the healing waters, talk about the famous writers and poets who lived here – from Keats to D.H. Lawrence to Oscar Wilde, we’ll walk down some of the best preserved Georgian streets in London, see atmospheric churches and the extraordinary Admiral’s House which featured in Mary Poppins, we’ll pass the Hampstead Observatory and end up outside a fantastic boozer – you are welcome to join us for a drink if you wish.

This very popular walk takes approximately one hour and fifteen minutes. Please contact julianwoodfield@mac.com for dates.
